The honest version.
We collect the smallest amount of information we can get away with while still running the service. We don’t sell your data. We don’t track you across the web. The browser extension doesn’t watch what you browse. If you ever want everything deleted, we’ll delete everything.
The long version is below, in plain English.
Who we are
Get Grounded is a small business community and browser companion run by Dana Sacco. The website lives at getgrounded.online. The community lives on Skool. The extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store. You can reach a human at dana@i2ihype.com.
What we collect
When you join the community
If you sign up for the free or member tier, the Skool platform collects your name, email address, and payment information (for paid memberships). Skool handles community accounts on our behalf — their privacy policy is at skool.com/privacy. We see your name and email so we know who’s in the room.
When you use the browser extension
The extension stores a few things to do its job:
- Your energy check-ins — the option you pick (or skip) when the extension asks how your energy is.
- Tasks shown, swapped, skipped, or completed — so the dashboard can reflect your week.
- Focus timer sessions — when you start one and how long it ran.
- Your settings — theme preference, notification preferences, anything you’ve configured.
This data lives in your browser’s local storage by default. If you sign in with a Get Grounded account, this data syncs to our server so it’s available across devices. You can stay signed out and use the extension purely locally — nothing leaves your machine in that case.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not read the content of pages you visit.
- It does not log your browsing history, search queries, or which sites you spend time on.
- It does not inject ads, trackers, affiliate links, or analytics into other websites.
- It does not share data with advertisers or data brokers — ever.
When you visit this website
Standard server logs record your IP address, browser, and which pages you load — the same logs every web server keeps. We don’t run advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or session-replay tools on this site. We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (like Plausible or similar) to count visits in aggregate; if so, no individual user is identified or tracked across visits.
When you email us
Your email and whatever you wrote sits in the inbox until we reply. Standard.
What we use it for
- Running the community and the extension.
- Letting you sign in across devices (if you choose to).
- Sending you a monthly newsletter, if you opted in.
- Improving the product based on how features get used (in aggregate, not by individual).
- Responding when you contact us.
We do not use it for: advertising, data sales, behavioral profiling, or training third-party AI models.
Who we share it with
The third parties that help us run the service are:
- Skool — community hosting and membership accounts.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid memberships. We never see your full card number.
- Our website host — runs the WordPress installation that serves this site.
- Our email provider — sends transactional emails and the newsletter (if you opted in).
Each of these has its own privacy commitments. We don’t share your data with anyone outside this list, and we don’t sell it to anyone, ever.
We will, of course, comply with valid legal process if compelled — but we’ll always tell you we did, unless we’re legally barred from saying so.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies for essential things: keeping you logged in if you log in, remembering your light/dark theme preference, that kind of thing. No advertising cookies. No cross-site trackers. No “cookie wall.”
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- See what data we have on you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your account and everything attached to it.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Stop sending you newsletters (one-click unsubscribe in every email).
If you’re in the EU/UK, you have these rights under GDPR. If you’re in California, you have them under CCPA. If you’re somewhere else, you have them because we think you should. Email dana@i2ihype.com and we’ll handle it within a reasonable window — usually a few days, occasionally longer if low-energy week.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. When you close the account, we delete personal data within 30 days. Aggregate, anonymized usage data may be retained longer for product improvement, but it can’t be linked back to you.
Children
Get Grounded is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you’re a parent or guardian and you believe your child has signed up, email us and we’ll delete the account.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit (HTTPS everywhere) and at rest (encrypted storage). No system is perfect, but we take it seriously. If we ever have a security incident that affects your data, we’ll tell you within 72 hours.
International transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you’re using Get Grounded from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed there. We rely on appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses where required) to protect your rights.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material — what we collect, who we share it with, what your rights are — we’ll update this page and email anyone with an account. The “Last updated” date at the top will always tell you when something changed.
